Shortly before the government shutdown, while Obama was expressing doubts, Reid pushed Obama to remain strong and not cave to GOP demands during negotiations come the government shutdown. Joe Scarborough correctly points out that in the rift between the Tea Party members in the GOP and the monied establishment, the monied establishment Republicans won out during the shutdown. Tom Donahue, the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, is not happy with Cruz’s antics. A reporter pointed out to Donahue that “the business community would like [Cruz] to sit down and shut up.” Donahue responded, “That might be one thing we can work on.” A new Amnesty International investigation and a Human Rights Watch report have been released indicating that there have been numerous civilian deaths as a result of drone strikes in Pakistan, refuting the claims of the Obama administration. Civilian victims include women, children, and the elderly. Beverly Young, the widow of representative Bill Young, bars former Florida Governor Charlie Crist from her husband’s memorial service citing political calculations. Judge Carlo Key of Texas decides he is no longer a Republican. He said, "Make no mistake: I have not left the Republican Party. It left me," referring to its irrational positions on social issues such as gay rights and poverty. It’s a Twitter Storm! Ambassador Jenny reads #AskCenk tweets.
