Turkey shoots down Russian warplane. Cenk explains the implications and context. White supremacists shooting at Black Lives Matter. Trump and waterboarding. Cenk hosting. Turkey shot down a Russian warplane, the first time a NATO member has downed a Russian plane in half a century. Two pilots ejected from the plane. Reports say one was killed after being shot. Debates on whether or not Russia was warned about continuously flying over Turkey’s airspace before being shot down. After over a week of protests in Minnesota due to another killing of an unarmed Black person by local cops. This morning White Supremacists approached and started shooting at the Black protesters, injuring 5. Cenk reads the details of the confrontation from 2 of the witnesses there. Cenk flips the scenario to point out how response from the cops would’ve been different if unarmed White protesters were confronted by masked Black people that shot 5 of them out of anger. Cenk also points out that this approach will lead to Black citizens to start carrying guns to these confrontations, which will lead to even more blood being spilled. Donald Trump told his supporters that he plans to bring waterboarding back if he’s president. Video of Trump saying “you bet your ass I would.” Video of Trump going on to say that even if it doesn’t work for intelligence gathering, he’d still bring it back because they deserve it. Rapper Killer Mike has endorsed Bernie Sanders in Atlanta after spending some time with the candidate. Video of his impassioned endorsement. A Princeton study shows that public opinion has no effect on public policy. A Marine, Jonathan Criswell, wrote on the WolfPAC wall that he will be donating $100/month to rid the country of unfair elections being won by corporations and corruption. Sam Harris took to a podcast to talk about refugees and the country’s policy on foreign affairs in the climate of terrorism. Cenk quotes Harris in saying that Ted Cruz’ idea to accept Christian over Muslim refugees isn’t bigotry since it is a fact that some percentage of Muslims will become terrorists, while no Christians will. Cenk deciphers the word games Harris plays to make his discriminatory point without being tied to it. Harris also voiced his support for Ben Carson over Noam Chomsky if he had to choose between the two for president. He thinks that Carson understands that jihadists are the enemy, while Chomsky doesn’t.
