Police Chief Thomas Jackson of Ferguson released a statement 4 days after the Ferguson shooting saying that Michael Brown struck an officer while trying to grab the officer’s gun, but witnesses like Tiffany Brown says that Michael Brown was shot in the back by officers while his hands were up in the air. A reporter from the Washington Post and a reporter from Huffington Post was arrested at a Mcdonald's for “trespassing” but was later released without charges. Video from Ryan J. Reilly of the Washington Post showing an officer telling him to leave the Mcdonalds, while he was just doing his job as a journalist, showing clearly that there was no threat is shown. Catfight: Joe Scarborough vs. Wesley Lowery with Joe saying that reporters in Ferguson are there just to show attention to themselves, while Wesley defends the importance of covering Ferguson. Press publications are highlighted showing headlines on the differences between black victims vs. white suspects in the reporting of crimes in America. Rush Limbaugh chimes in on the death of Robin Williams, saying the cause of his death was the “darkness from the left” and taking work in television in reaction, from a declining movie career. But, Rush now back peddles saying that his comments were misunderstood and that liberals are the ones misquoting him. Jonathan Saenz of Texas Values is crusading against gay marriage but has become a “bitterman” over his wife leaving him ... for another woman. Gia Arnold, a candidate for state senator in NY, stepped down from the campaign trail after cheating on her husband and says she enjoyed it. Show notes by Bart Kyle

Cenk hosting today. NBC officially announced that Chuck Todd will be taking over Meet The Press. The latest developments from Ferguson, Missouri are given including attacks on peaceful protesters by the police. Video of the police using tear gas and rubber bullets along with mine resistant vehicles making the protest looking like a war-zone is shown. Gov. Jay Nixon of Missouri announced that local Ferguson police will step down and  security will be overseen by the state highway patrol. Video of the mayor of Ferguson claiming that he doesn't “second guess law enforcement” because unlawful people are hiding behind peaceful protestors is shown. An article from Talking Points Memo centers in on the excessive use of force by the police from “The 1033 Program”  which was approved by the US Congress in 1992 that allows local law enforcement agencies to acquire military equipment to fight the “war on drugs.” Video of the official reaction from President Obama stating that now is the time for healing for Ferguson and that both sides should stop the violence with an open transparent investigation to find justice. Conservative reaction from Sen. Ted Cruz of TX says “that civil liberties must be protected and that violence is not the answer”. Rand Paul says that “anyone who thinks that race does not skew the application of criminal justice in this country is just not paying close enough attention”  and “it is impossible for African Americans for not thinking that the government is targeting them”. Video from Newmax with Rep Steve King from IA saying Ferguson residents are of the same “continental origin” that he rejects “race based politics” and that “we are all god’s children” is shown. Sean Hannity says that he finds that the cops are nice to him when he informs police that he has “a gun” and that “some cops are called into being cops” and that he has confidence in law enforcement. Fox News shows a graphic of MLK saying “Forgetting MLK's Message” & “Protesters in Missouri turn to violence”  along with video from Fox News and Friends with Kevin Jackson,Executive Director of Black Sphere showing Al Sharpton “using political opportunity” in Ferguson and that role models should be like Clarence Thomas and not Snoop Dogg. A good cop comes to the rescue in a video showing public safety officer Jason Gates of Kalamazoo Michigan aiding a female driver by using the heimlich maneuver and saved her from choking to death. Rep. Lee Terry of Nebraska voted against the raising of the minimum wage while not voting to accept a pay cut in Congress. Max Fisher of Vox reports that Russia is sending 280 trucks in the Ukraine to aid Russia but no one knows what in the trucks. Twitter Storm with Kim Horcher.
